I just happened to think the other day how hard it must've been for young people

I just happened to think the other day how hard it must’ve been for Young people who came of age before the 1950s. They had no music of their own. They had to just make do with their parents’ music unless they got interested in some other genre.

It must’ve been difficult. However, it has been said that you don’t miss what you never had.

from Europe. I don't think kids have ever let their parents stuff be cool. It's like a law of nature.

having survived the Depression era I doubt missing out on some music would be considered a hardship
