4. Hi Donkees. No I'm pretty hydrated. Plenty of water and coffee this morning.

I get these in spells. Been getting them all week. Used to only get them for a day. I can go months without any and then boom! I'll have them off and on for 5-6 days.

When that first happened like that, I went to see my Doctor, because it did worry me. She scheduled a brain scan for me and everything looked OK.

Yes, it was confirmed I have a brain.

So I just roll with them when they decide to pay me a visit. But sometimes they can be debilitating.

2. That was always my signal to take a pain killer.

The longer it lasted the worse the pain would be. So I would get a jump on the attack before it got bad.

There was no getting rid of the aura, just stay put, don't drive until your vision clears.

My experience was 30 years ago and doctors may know more now.

3. I probably should have done that. The aura is gone, but now the migraine is here.

Sometimes I do get the headache and sometimes not. So I don't always take a painkiller proactively.
Today I didn’t.
Just took an ibuprofen. Hopefully that will do the trick. If not I'll take a couple of Tylenol.

I can go months without any migraine and then get one that will last for a day. The clusters are more rare, maybe about 2x a year.

My "normal migraines” I get occasionally and they last for several hours or all day. Headache relief medication helps.

I can get just the aura with no headache, but it's usually the single migraine with aura.

About 3 years ago was the 1st time I got the cluster, lasting for a week. They would come and go, always with an aura. I was alarmed. Saw my Dr and she had me get a Brain Mri. Nothing out of the ordinary showed up. So just guess like a lot of folks with issues, many far worse than me, it's just something I have to live with.

i used to get those, and I know what you’re going through. I even got auras while driving to work one day.

Take migraine meds, go to bed, and get rest.

Sending good vibes your way.

7. I have the same condition

I don't get any of the pain, just the visual distortion. Looks like those reflective pinwheels or kind of like a collidiscope. Starts near the center of my focus then spreads to the peripheral and disappears. Lasts about 15 to 30 minutes. I get them in bunches too every few months. Seems like it's when I'm stressed and haven't had enough sleep. Dr. says I shouldn't be worried about it, just lie down for a while till it passes. I've had to pull over while driving at times, and of course reading is a problem. I worried that it would eventually get worse and worse but it hasn't in the last 30-40 years.

Just sharing my experience, your mileage may vary.

annoying. I once had to pull to the side of the road while driving until it passed. Fortunately, I don't get the debilitating migraine headaches I had when I was younger.

12. When I get those, I cut my head off and keep it in a box under my bed for 12 hours or so

I'd get blinding migraines so bad I just wanted to die. Usually I'd just curl up on the bathroom floor in the dark. I didn't know that putting my head in a box was an option.

Maybe it's med changes or age, but now I mostly get the blinding kind of migraine without much of a headache.

But I'm still pretty useless for 12 hours or so when I get them. Even after I can see again I have trouble getting the rest of my brain to focus.

No pain though, and the visual impairment usually goes away in 15 or 20 minutes.

18. That's how mine were at first, aura, but not migraine.

Always got migraines but not the aura. Then I started getting the aura, but not migraine. Now generally both at same time.
Happily only occurs a few times a year. The incidences are not debilitating like they are for some folks, but are annoying and slow me down a bit.

I'm sure you getting at least one a week is annoying for you as well. Take care.
