Goes back to '83. We were at my friend Bill's sisters place sitting around the kitchen drinking coffee while Peggy (the sister) was prepping food for a cookout that would start in around an hour and a half (bunch of people coming over). She told us to get off our asses and go outside and get the patio ready. We murmured yes's and kept drinking coffee... 15 minutes goes by and Peg is a bit annoyed because we are still there and she says 'come on now, get going'. We again murmured yes's and did not go... She let it go another 10 minutes and while tenderizing some meat to be put on the grill later, snaps at us 'Boys!... Go, now, or else' My buddy Bill says 'Or else what Peg?' She turned holding up the tenderizer and says... Or else... Mallet!
Hehe, it is still a common phrase is use among us today

(149,615 posts)I was brand new to the internet...(what in hell is a message board?) and so much else. I was intrigued and nervous, but I wanted to be part of this strange way of communicating, so I signed up.
What a long, strange and unbelievably wonderful trip it has been!
So glad I found DU.
