(11,098 posts)What is the major difference between whiskey and bourbon in terms of taste? I think I have tried both, but don't quite recall their distinct differences.
Aristus
(71,876 posts)Bourbon is aged in pine barrels that have been charred beforehand, giving it a nice, smooth, delicious smoky flavor.
And until next time...

(26,515 posts)A bartender made me a bourbon drink for Happy Hour yesterday - bourbon, cranberry juice, lemon, and sugar - not a bourbon fan.
The only whiskey I like so far is Pendleton's.
Aristus
(71,876 posts)Scottish single malt. That high-tension stuff from the outer islands. Peaty and smoky. Absolute Heaven in a glass.

(71,876 posts)Breaking the seal on the bottle. It smells like a campfire
cilla4progress
(26,515 posts)I may or may not take to that.
I did have a bartender waft cedar smoke into an "artisanal" drink he made for me once.
I liked it!

(71,876 posts)I took a few courses on the GI Bill, but I had been out of the Army for fifteen years by the time I started PA School. So my GI Bill benefits had long since expired.
