I love that you do this. I didn't realize my 17yr anniversary at DU had just passed until I saw your Good Day posts. I actually became an avid reader of DU after the election of 2000-- being a Floridian watching the news back then, I lived in a state of constant, daily horror and shock. This place became a spot of sanctuary during those difficult times. Sadly, I wasn't computer literate enough to figure out how to log in until much later, hence the 2005 anniversary date.

I remember Andy Stephenson and I myself became seriously involved in advocacy for trustworthy Florida elections administration. The work I did as a result, in collaboration with many others, including League of Women Voters, NAACP, Common Cause, and Advancement Project, was a big part of the effort to move our state away from touchscreen voting and onto paper ballots! Governor Christ (who was an R an the time) actually listened and was in support of that change, for which I give him due respect.

Suffice it to say, I am so grateful for DU. This place and it's kind, generous, mostly sane and sometimes cantankerous denizens are precious to me. Though I don't post often, I visit nearly daily and am so glad we're all here.

Thank you for ALL you do, and congrats for all the milestones!!
