… I was invited to a birthday luncheon for a precocious and pretentious ‘tween young lady. While perusing the menu, one of her friends asked what soup du jour is. The birthday girl replied, “You know, it’s soup with those little du jours sprinkled on top!” I ordered the lobster bisque.
