I do not know if it's because of Covid or DeJoy. But, on Feb 3, I mailed, by Overnight Mail, an envelope to Carlsbad, CA. It still has not shown up. There are two additional strange things: using the tracking number, all the website says is that it is scheduled to be delivered on Feb. 4. That was 4 days ago. The tracking website shows zero evidence that it ever left my local PO. Secondly, I stopped by my PO this afternoon. The lady said that according to her computer, I was eligible to receive a refund. She told me that the only way I COULD receive a refund was if it was delivered. However, it has not been delivered yet.
Has anyone else had problems like this? If so, did you ever get your package?? I am so frustrated and angry about this. Thanks.

(301 posts)You get a refund if the package gets delivered, how dumb is that. They really need to have a tracking device. They never know, where anything is.

(43,115 posts)She could tell how it was sorted, which bin it was in. Either she or I would call the PO where it was stuck, and they would look for it. But that was 10 years ago.
Now I get no answers that might require anyone to do any actual work. If it's not in their possession, other USPS jurisdictions have it and are responsible for it. So you might ask if they can tell where the package is. Perhaps they have so streamlined everything that they leave it all to automation.
I'm trying to get my PO to open the lobby on time. It's wreaking havoc that people don't have access to their PO Boxes in a timely manner. No one knows why, no one cares, no one explains. Profuse apologies, but no results. I'm trying to be flexible. I know covid and employee shortages. But we pay for these services, and we're being shorted.

Probably the same for yours. Dunno what it is. Unhoused people warming themselves? Drug sales? Don't know.

(5,477 posts)shipped to my Florida address in October. Never showed up. I called several times with the shipping number and all the info they asked for and they just said it would show up. Finally I called Kohl's and they kindly refunded my charge card. Never got the shoes. Some postal worker is walking their route IN MY SHOES.

(2,113 posts)I had the same thing happen with a few of my tracked packages last year & followed the procedures on this page:
https://www.usps.com/help/missing-mail.htm
I think it helps to get an official "inquiry" started. I was contacted pretty quickly by the USPS - first by email, then by an actual person via telephone. They ended up magically "finding" all but one of my shipments, which actually was lost.
Hope this helps!

(48,957 posts)sit for days partway along the route, long enough that I wondered if they were lost, only to suddenly find an update that they're "out for delivery" with no intervening stops across several states shown in the updates.
The system is more and more messed up...

(10,885 posts)sent Priority Mail from RI to SC. The one and only scan showed it leaving my local post office, but never showed it reaching the central hub in Providence. Geez - was the truck highjacked between the two RI cities? Tracking was useless - the package wasn't being scanned anywhere along its route. I went down to the p.o. to speak with the Postmaster - no help beyond him calling the Providence hub and confirming it wasn't there. Three weeks passed and...nothing. Suddenly a tracking e-mail arrived from the SC local post office indicating their receipt and that it was Out For Delivery. There was no indication of where it had been for three weeks or why it was delayed. Frustrating - and NO refund either b/c it was delivered. Maybe I should have pressed harder for that.
I feel and understand your anxiety and frustration. Your OM will most likely show up, but the big question is "When?" I hope the contents weren't time sensitive, and its delay doesn't cost you further. Good luck.
