People sometimes express their pride in theif families, so I guess I will, too.

My middle step-grand is, IMO, a superstar. She plays first chair flute in the HS orchestra, and is in the county band. She sings the national anthem before most school functions, as well as elsewhere, at times.

She plays varsity basketball, and while not bent double with talent, plays defence like a demon by outworking her opponents, and is a great passer. She also plays varsity volleyball.

She has done extra credit work, and while the rewards for that aren't great, it has boosted her GPA to 102.1 out of 100. She's just a junior, but we have every confidence she will graduate...and when she does, she will have also finished 1st year of university and go straight into second year.

She's also done university courses to fill up all that free time, and does stop-motion videos with her best friend, who is on the same teams.

Her future's so bright, she oughta wear shades.

She is also a very sweet kid who loves her families - her single-mother family, and her father's blended family, alternating weeks - and loves their dog to death.

A brief remark about the "other" family. When we went to the Xmas "concert" at her school, we sat with her father's parents. All very civilized.

It is a joy to hear the great stories.

It seems likely she is going be accepted into a good college with scholarships!
She is a real star.

And, it sounds like your little village has raised an awesome human. Congratulations! I can see why you would be so proud.

Sounds as if her family has done a great job. Good on her.

PS: It's okay to brag about your kids, grandkids, steps, nephews, nieces...
