(36,850 posts)......a young woman stepped forward and asked him to sing 'All I Ask Of You'.
Stephen replied 'I can't do two Phantom songs in a row'.
The young woman said 'if you do, I'll sing it with you'.
Stephen looked skeptical and asked 'are you any good?'
The young woman replied 'I'm currently Christine in Phantom of the Opera'.
What followed was absolutely amazing and I'm very glad I got my phone out quick enough to record it!!
I feel very privileged to have witnessed such a special moment in person.

(23,666 posts)How great was it for her to step in and do that. She could have just walked on by. A good person. Hope she puts in a good word for him if he's interested in going professional.

(5,294 posts)when he was sitting at the LA Farmer's Market when some acapella carolers walked by. My friend pointed them in the direction of a pudgy little old man drinking coffee and told them to sing The Christmas Song (aka Chestnuts Roasting...) while standing next to the man, who happened to write the song.
(Since my friend is a professional writer, and it's his story to tell, I'm just going to link to it and suggest you read it when you need a smile)

(22,767 posts)I hope something comes of this for him. That is one of my favorite ALW plays. The music gives me such chills. I was so thankful that ALW put it up to be watched in its entirety during the initial lockdowns. It's the only way I would have ever gotten to see it. So beautiful. Sigh.

Folks pay $$ to see marvelous performances like this!
A YouTuber wrote, "Londoners, amirite?"
(Pretty much true. I've never been treated as badly anywhere as I was in London when trying to board a bus with my 20mo old son. Some Londoners can make New Yorkers seem like purveyors of southern hospitality.)
Anyway, THIS street performance was absolutely beautiful!
Read that this Irishman is now working in theater productions. Wishing him much success.
