Of stars and hearts
First, thank you to all the DUers who gave me a heart. I appreciate it.
As I post here each year, I cannot directly reciprocate. I search for "heartless" DUers and I usually find them in the groups, not in the main forums.
But... I noticed that many, while have been here long and have many posts to their names, are not star members. As a matter of fact, there are too many DUers who are not star members. Many are admired and beloved. Each of their posts goes fast into the Greatest Threads and they have already received many hearts.
And I have to ask why. If they like DU so much why can't they donate $5.00 a year? I do not pretend to know the financial situation of anyone but if they come here often, is it always from the public library? And, of course, if they are not star members this means they cannot give hearts, only receive them..
Someone once commented that they like to view the ads... OK, to each his own but so many?
And, I suppose, some will say that this is not my business. No, it is not, but we are so proud of DU being our community, our family.. we show our love by giving hears for crying out loud!
OK, I will get off my soap box but I really really do not understand this.

unable to make even the smallest of donations. Perhaps others are in a similar situation.
