(63,221 posts)for some reason, I haven't jumped on the Wordle bandwagon yet. I'm really good at crosswords, jumbles, other word games, sudoku, free-cell, solitaire, and other puzzles like that, but maybe I'm just put off by the sudden popularity of this game.
I tend to be a slow adopter, so I will probably give it a shot one of these days and who knows? It's kind of like when a film or book is really hyped up out of the gate, it makes me less interested instead of more.

(38,753 posts)I got the word in 4 tries. Somehow I think I was lucky. The letters "B" and "O" and their placement did it for me.
I don't know that I feel the need to play again, but I might.
People like what they like.

Aristus
(67,102 posts)in her latest attempt.
She loves word puzzles, logic puzzles, brain-teasers, and so on.
When it comes to knowledge games, I've always preferred things like trivia. Question and answer games.
These different kinds of puzzles appeal to different types of intellects. Mrs. Aristus is a very orderly, linear thinker. She follows one step, and then another until she has the solution. I've always told her she could have been an amazingly gifted police detective or a litigator.
I'm a much more abstract thinker. I was terrible at algebra in school. Not because I couldn't get the right answer; it was because I could look at the problem and come up with the right answer, but I wasn't able to show my work step-by-step. OTOH, I think this has helped make me a good clinician. I can think around certain obstacles and get to the heart of the diagnostic problem quickly and accurately.
Anyway, Wordle bores the hell out of me...

(14,100 posts)Crosswords, word scrambles, etc. Theyre challenging and they exercise the brain, all to the good.
And they keep me from running the streets

Really dont understand why people see the need to run down things others enjoy. Dont like it? Dont play it, and ignore posts that talk about it. Simple.
