Do they not build them where you live?

(The one you show is really fancy, most are much less expensive and simple construction.)

Window well.

Lived there for years.
Every year there were baby toads.

Our windowells werent that deep.

Damp and sheltered.

Right, most window wells are more shallow, not so fancy.

To see baby toads every year. Yeah it was cool.

I brought a toad in the basement because mom left some compost too close to the house. It was full of earwigs.

They got into the basement.

Toads are natural predators to earwigs.

Caught a couple of toads.
Earwigs were gone in a week and a half.

I think thats where that toad in the window well came from.

I let out all the toads I caught to eat the earwings when they were all gone, except one toad I could not find.

For food, mating, etc.

Did your mom know about you bringing the toads into the basement?
I guess she was glad you got rid of the earwigs. No pesticides.

Maybe the one toad found a way out of the house on his own.

She was blown away the earwigs were done for so fast. She was gonna have a bug guy over to spray I told her she was wasting her money. So she let me bring in the toads.
