Is this just a Kindle thing? I keep getting pop-ups telling me how many pop-ups

I don't know how anyone dares to use a laptop in a presentation any more, what with any number of popups that could appear at any time. [It's been 30 days since your last order of Fungus-B-Gone! Do you want to purchase now?] I guess you could disconnect the computer from the Internet but that wouldn't stop the popups on your computer related to internal timing, or warning you that you're not connected to the Internet.

6. I think your browser might be doing that

If it is your browser, you can probably go into the settings and turn off notifications.

I have a Mediafire, which is also a Kindle device, and mine doesn't do that because I've turned off a lot of stuff I don't want. Also I keep mine in "airplane mode" because I prefer not to surf the internet on it. I just use mine for reading e-books and that's about all.
