...last year from 45 years as a peds nurse practitioner was the introduction of telemedicine at my office, coinciding with the pandemic.
I don't trust it. If I can't look at it with my own eyes, auscultate it (listen to it) with my own ears, or palpate it (touch/feel it) with my own fingers, I don't want to diagnose it.
I think it is suitable for some things - counseling, for refilling an ongoing prescription for things like birth control or ADHD meds, or talking about toddler temper tantrums or appetites. NOT AT ALL for diagnosing and treating an acute illness, especially if fever, pain, or shortness of breath are involved.
