But we've got 5 per day or more bs calls the past year, surveys, very aggressive charities, weird voices asking for us, answering to a hangup. Infuriating. We're on do not call

Besides, it seems they're too busy bothering you to mess with anyone else.

Land line. 866 & 877 calls mostly. I'm on the no call list, for all the good that does. I finally unplugged my phone & three days later I had 14 silent/hang-up voicemails. IDK what changed, but we've never had calls like this before.

When you have spare time to kill....
(Entertainment value only)
-----------------------------

How to answer spam phone calls...

Keep asking: What is your name?
... until you get an answer.

What is your company/org name?
... until you get an answer.

What is your company/org address?
... until you get an answer.

What is your company/org phone number?
... until you get an answer.

What number can I get in contact with you?
... until you get an answer.

So what if they lie?
You're just going to hang up on them anyway.
Even better if you say 'sorry, not interested'.
.
Their time is also important to them.

sounds like something I'd be interested in, but I have to have your number to call you back to accept any offer. Otherwise I'm told it is a spam call....click.

21. I get very few spam calls since switching to VOIP for our main line (can block international calls).

I regularly check and add unknown numbers to my blocked numbers list too. The scammers seem to have the capability to use your own area codes and switch numbers constantly to make it appear like they are neighbors, nearby friends or businesses. If you are curious, do a Google search and see what turns up on some of the numbers coming into your phone.

My behavior toward unknown calls is probably pretty typical. So, it makes one question the accuracy of any phone poll conducted by the media or political organizations.
