Lindholm explained that he used a heat pack to try to thaw out his appendage once the race was over. “When the body parts started to warm up after the finish, the pain was unbearable,” he added.

3. It must have been very cold because x-country skiing is a real work out

I have gotten some frost bite on the tips of my ears and tip of my nose.

4. It is a workout, even at amateur levels. I've been x-c skiing in subzero weather

and didn't get cold anywhere (although I am not an owner of the appendage in question), wearing a hat and keeping skin covered. Male friends have complained of some shrinkage but not frostbite, so I am wondering whether this skier's undies were warm enough.

5. Probably little if any underwear to reduce drag and make the racer faster.

BTW I have been cross country skiing in very cold conditions and been just fine "down there."
Really cold means underwear (boxer briefs), long underwear, ski pants, and some gym shorts
(pockets). Most of the time if the temp > 10 degrees just underwear, ski pants, and some
shorts. I was just skiing in the Cuyahoga Park in N.E. OH about 1 month ago @ 9 F and it
was awesome.

BTW if you are in the east and the conditions are right this place is awesome. If I can make the
climbs on Cabin Link trail or Dog Leg or Dynamite Shack I figure I still have some time left in me
but I can't do what I once did.

6. That's a long way from me, but I have been skiing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area

some years ago. These days I'm more of a city park trails person, but there are a lot of those. Hoping for some snow this week.

7. The cabins are awesome ... no TV, cell phones don't work, and they were built by the CCC (upgraded

since) and the paneling is American Chestnut. Thanx to global warming the snow is nowhere as
consistent as it used to be but on a weekday day night when not too many people are there
silence is magical.

BTW I loves me some Joe Biden he just protected Boundary Waters.

When I went skiing in the BWCA we slept in tents. It was then that I decided I didn't like winter camping.

9. The cabins are a lot better then camping in the snow. The wood stoves (they have a furnace too) ...

... makes everything nice and toasty. Some of the best skiing I ever had was there when it was -5 to -10
although I did have some frozen ice and snot-cles on my mustache.

The last 2 times I was there the last mile or so back to the cabin was kind of rough.

BTW the creek below the bridge is Poplar Run and has native brook trout. Really small but very pretty.
