My niece is over, she is about 5 months pregnant right now (it's a girl!) so I decided to make one of the favorites we like to eat... Pierogi's made wrong
I get premade ones, stuffed with potato and onion. I put bacon grease in a pan with some chopped onion and sauté them until caramelized. Pop in some crushed garlic, just a touch more bacon grease if needed and the (thawed, not frozen) pierogis. Heat and brown the pierogi's, drop them on a plate and then... The heresy... Yes, I top them with spaghetti sauce and some grated Romano cheese. Some garlic bread on the side to soak up the extra sauce and some homemade iced tea to wash it down... So good

(29,525 posts)that Im sure arent traditional. They were filled with spinach, bacon, and feta cheese. Some of the best Ive ever had. The ones filled with mashed potatoes just dont do it for me.
