(37,535 posts)...I had Ukrainian neighbors who were refugees from Stalin, old people who treated me magnificently, but what the world is seeing is that Ukrainian culture is a high and magnificent culture imbued- how rare is this - with toughness tempered with grace, humor, and a profound sense of beauty even in tragedy.
They have a right to claim glory.
