What music would you put in an Olympic opening ceremony in the U.S.?

Obviously I think "Rhapsody in Blue" as they did in the LA Olympics in 1984, and a few selections from Porgy and Bess, "Summertime" at least, maybe "America" from West Side Story, some Motown hits, but what else?

And "Ashokan Farewell" from the Civil War series.

But I don't know a lot about music... I just like those examples.

Yes I know they played at Friday night's ceremony, but I don't think that you can have enough Arctic Monkeys!

I always thought it would have been appropriate to welcome the athletes with movie sound track fanfares and marches, such as Parade of the Charioteers from Ben Hur, Indiana Jones' main theme, Superman, Captain from Castile, March to the Castle, Mary, Queen of Scots and so forth. "Hollywood, the film capital of the world, welcomes the athletes of ..."

Your choices, plus some classic Swing and Rock, In The Mood, Rock Around the Clock, etc
