- mixed with every giant breed known to man- often brings me sticks the size of your stick man and expects me to toss it for him.

I live in a forest. I have many sticks.

wanted me to toss sticks into creeks so he could take a swim to retrieve them. He would swim quickly downstream to grab them before they floated away.

One time a stick got tangled in huge tree roots that spread into the water from a tree on the bank. He lost track of which piece of wood was the stick and grabbed a tree root. He was so determined to bring back that "stick" that I had to wade in to coax him away from it and toss another stick to distract him from the stubborn one that would not move.

After he let go of the tree root, he barked angrily at it.

who would bring things home. Once brought home a nightstand. Lol He and his brother would find a stick longer than the gate was wide, and throw it ouside the fence for the dog, and then laugh their heads off as the dog tried to bring it in. The stories about his dogs were in My Life and Hard Times, I think. Worth reading for the dry wit and humor
