Since neither my husband or I carry change anymore. He takes his out and caches it. I simply don't spend much cash money since I seldom go anywhere. The other day I needed to pay a dollar and less than a dime change for something. I actually had a single, but no change. We both had twenties. Ended up using a card to pay for it.

If you get extension, just before the end of the extension, demand a copy of the invoice and an extension to review it.

If you get that, demand a photo of the item and an extension to review it. Etc.

On email I block it. On the landline phone, I say nothing - or maybe just "Hello" - and leave an open connection until they disconnect.

And for those who ask why I answer - I get too many calls from unknown numbers that are legitimate calls to ignore them. Real people will say "Hello" if I say nothing. Robocalls and scammers, nope.
