Frozen Dead Guy Days

We are fortunate to live in a town with an amazing sense of humor. Unfortunately, I'm having to miss the festivities this year because of a bad cold.

We had to cancel this festival the last two years, so everyone was pretty psyched about this one. My Coffin-Race team is the local library (our library Director is on it). Not sure how they did, but I'm sure they had fun.

If you want to know the story, look up "Grandpa's in the Tuff Shed" or "Grandpa's Still in the Tuff Shed" (link below) and watch it. My favorite line: "Be careful what you do in Nederland, because we might just make a festival out if it!"

One of these days I'll have to attend "Frozen Dead Guy Days." It's just so cold up there and there's not much O2.

A few times, when I had time to kill because of flight schedules, I'd go up 119 to Nederland.

I didn't think too much about the town I guess, just passing through.

As for the video and the remark about the afterlife and New Jersey, it's funny but...

...I often feel as if I died and went to heaven and it turned out to be New Jersey; something of a surprise to this one time Long Island/one time California kid, but yes, if there's heaven, it's probably very much like New Jersey.

I've been in almost every state in the Union, some nicer than others, but there's none I'd prefer to New Jersey.
