Especially in this shitstorm we have right now.

I’m solidly pre diabetic. So far watching what I eat, metformin and a statin are keeping me in line.

Not eating that. 2 fish sticks with a little bit of tartar sauce and a salad.
Or cooked spinach for me.

I am scared shitless of diabeties. I has it

Having a high sugar level to me is like playing russian roulette with your own bodily parts and functions.

Today it might be ok to eat that, maybe tommorrow maybe next year.. I dunno but each time I eat stuff that would shoot my sugar levels to the moon a little bit of parts unknown to me inside me get a little more damaged.

For me fish sticks are not worth it. Making myself sick over time is a no-go.

I find stuff, low glycemic stuff that satisfies.

Instead of chips I go for cauliflower chips. Instead of fish sticks I fry some fish and coat it in almond flour spice it up its good and my sugar does not spike to me I dodged a teeny tiny bullet today, saving my eyes,my heart,or who knows what else.

No thanks I'll be over here eatin' my spinach and be happy that I haven't lost my toes yet.

In other words I am too scared to eat that.

Just Im fucking scared. Scared I have diabeties, scared of the future, scared of my body, scared of food, scared of existing like this. Been diabetic since 2018.

Yeah haven't got a lot of time under my belt, not 70 years old. My honeymoon is still here temporarily.

But part of me wishes I was 70 years old.

My endro wants to take me off my diabeties meds. Says I dont need them.I'm terrified she might do it.

I've been eating low carb for over 2 years, got my sugar down 50 points, lost about 50 lbs. Keeping it down, keeping it off. I was casually diagnosed as pre-diabetic years ago, by casually, I mean my dr. diagnosed me with any testing, because I was overweight.
I've had bronchitis for the last month, and haven't had much of an appetite, except for stuff that has been off the menu for years. Now that I'm feeling better, I will get back on my plan. Thank you for listing so many incentives to stick to a food plan that is healthy.

My daughter is a renal dietitian. Talk about having a powerful advocate in your corner

More of a cocktail sauce fan myself. Tartar sauce is good, I'll eat it but if there is a choice... I always go for the cocktail sauce

I use it as tartar sauce and make fresh coleslaw with it. I like having some baked fish filets once in awhile.

I replaced bbq sauce and ketchup with a Chinese style hot chile garlic sauce. Both are low carb, and are satisfying. I rarely any white potatoes, but the chili sauce is killer on meatloaf

Gorton's Potato Crunch fish fillets in the freezer. Four of those (with lemon tartar sauce) will be dinner, along with a huge salad and fresh fruit.
