Does anyone care about Harry and Meghan?

It's kind of sad. I don't think Americans pay any attention to them yet they keep trying to act like a famous power couple.

It seems like they really dislike them for "what they did"... If the Brit MSM did not mention them nobody would care.. At least thats how I see it.. The Brit MSM just throws any old shit about H&M against the wall and see what sticks. I think lots of it is made up to get headlines..

I used to like Harry. But I think Meghan is a total climber and an attention whore. She's always got a grievance about who did what to her and who didn't make her feel loved/wanted/welcome, or whatever. I think she's toxic. Now Harry is the same. They're both usually bitching or whining about some perceived slight or other. IMO, it got old fast. Real fast.

So no, I don't care about either of them. I'm not interested in anything to do with them. I hope they find the happiness they're looking for but I also wish they'd do it quietly.

OK, because you brought them up I googled to see if they were making a splash in Hollywood or something similar. Seems they just returned to England to attend the "Invictus Games. Had no idea what the "Invictus Games are so googled them.

If this is what you're referring I think it would be appropriate for them to attend and are not doing it to have the spotlight on them.

I hope they have a happy life together and with their kids. The British press blame them for literally anything they can. I truly don't understand why people hate them so much. One would think they sacrificed babies to pagan gods for all the hate they receive. No one has ever given a legitimate reason for the hate and lies. People were bitching a few months ago that Harry has never worked a day in his life, completely glossing over his active front line duty (and before anyone comes at me, look it up before you start he was protected because of his status as a royal)

The DailyMail said Megan was straight out of Compton. And that was 2 years before they were married. They primed the pump with racist bullshit way before Harry and Meg choose to leave. They have been the recipients of unmitigated hate and racism for years.

29. I read that if you are anybody you don't piss off

the royal family. People that do get cut from any social events by the royals. So people that want to stay on the good side don't want to be seen with Harry et al. A lot of people in high places have shut them out. They don't get invited out. And partly people are afraid to talk to them candidly because they talk to the press about private stuff. They brought that on themselves.

It is kind of like a soap opera.

34. They live up US 101 in a community where it is normal to want a quiet life for your children...

…. and also normal to be wealthy and well-known. Montecito’s the kind of place where you can go to Starbuck’s or the grocery store and not have tourists bug you. You’re not a freak, in other words. It’s a casual coastal location with access to a nice public beach. I have read that a clutch of Hollywood people have decided the commute is worth it in order to raise their kids away from Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and LA.

Oh, for those who don’t know — it’s not some kind of gated community, but an actual unincorporated town in Santa Barbara County. Lots of trees hiding the houses. In my former politically active life, my work took me there many times for meetings, because some of the residents like to raise money for Democrats and liberal causes. You just have to have a lot of spare cash to by a home there.

Exit Montecito and enter nearby Santa Barbara and there’s a lot more to do in the way of cultural life, but it is far from being Los Angeles and the folks like it that way. There are certainly a lot of tourists, but the locals will leave you alone. There is less privacy.

I don’t think Meghan and Harry are trying to act like a famous couple — they are a famous couple. If they had wanted a glitzy life they would have stayed in Los Angeles and its many ostentatious enclaves.

I don’t read supermarket tabloids, because they are trash and garbage. I don’t think anyone in their right mind wants to be written up by those things.

I have no idea about the “average American” not caring about them. Maybe we all have other things to occupy our minds. When I think about them at all, I wish them well. Last I heard they were still building charitable trusts as a way to do good, and working out how to make a living for themselves. For that — they really do need to give the media access.

The beach snapshots I’ve seen, the Christmas photos and all, they just look like normal Southern Californians in the sunshine. They look as far away from those formal Royal portraits as it is possible to get. If they can repair family relationships, all to the good. But Harry knows all to well what can happen to a woman who doesn’t fit in, and who is being relentlessly attacked by the tabloid press.
