I know I shouldn't have sent a $100 bill in the mail, and I should have put a tracer on it.....

now, I don’t know if my friend has received it or not. I sent it to a dear friend who is having knee surgery and will be laid up for awhile. I thought a $100 bill would help her with groceries or anything she might need. So it’s been a week, and I used a 9 digit zip code. Should I give it a few more days for a response from her saying she received it?? Or do ya think it’s been stolen?? I think it’s been stolen, my husband says give it a few more days. Damn. Ya know, I felt a twinge when I put it in her speedy recovery card. In the back of my mind I thought it might be stolen. Damn.

1. You wrapped the bill in paper or the card? No one should know the $$ is there.

2. Yah, it was wrapped within the card. The card had an inside piece to help cover it.

Well (name) I'm so glad you're doing ok and have help while you recover.. I hope you can use the $100 I sent you to get something you need or enjoy.

That way you're not coming right out and asking, but you will find out if she ever got it.

for a successful surgery…...she did text me back thanking me for the “super sweet card” and that her surgery was scheduled for 7:00am tomorrow, but she didn’t mention the money. So am happy she got the card, hoping she got the money as well. 🤞🏻

So she said she received the card?

I would wait until she was somewhat recovered from her surgery and then work into the conversation something like...I just want to make sure...there was some cash in the card and I'm worried it didn't get to you. Did you receive it?

It's awkward, but there is no other way to find out. She probably did receive it, but just forgot to mention it? Her mind is probably overwhelmed with the surgery right now...

Anything could have happened...sometimes people rip open cards quickly, something inside the card may have fallen out under a chair or something, all kinds of things could have happened.

I think you only have two options: either ask about it or don't.

I personally would tend to ask at the right time.

I've done it a few times. I knew it was risky, but I took the chance anyway. In my case, it all worked out.

I would make a phone call in a couple of days see if the card arrived. Maybe it's just slow mail, maybe she hasn't gone to her mailbox yet...there's a pretty good chance it's going to get there safely.

I hope everything works out!
