now, I dont know if my friend has received it or not. I sent it to a dear friend who is having knee surgery and will be laid up for awhile. I thought a $100 bill would help her with groceries or anything she might need. So its been a week, and I used a 9 digit zip code. Should I give it a few more days for a response from her saying she received it?? Or do ya think its been stolen?? I think its been stolen, my husband says give it a few more days. Damn. Ya know, I felt a twinge when I put it in her speedy recovery card. In the back of my mind I thought it might be stolen. Damn.

So I am so happy. Her surgery is @7:00am tomorrow. Whew, so relieved, and it did take about 7 days for her to receive my card, she lives 39 miles away!!!!

(27,772 posts)Well (name) I'm so glad you're doing ok and have help while you recover.. I hope you can use the $100 I sent you to get something you need or enjoy.
That way you're not coming right out and asking, but you will find out if she ever got it.

(36,348 posts)for a successful surgery ...she did text me back thanking me for the super sweet card and that her surgery was scheduled for 7:00am tomorrow, but she didnt mention the money. So am happy she got the card, hoping she got the money as well. 🤞🏻

(23,067 posts)So she said she received the card?
I would wait until she was somewhat recovered from her surgery and then work into the conversation something like...I just want to make sure...there was some cash in the card and I'm worried it didn't get to you. Did you receive it?
It's awkward, but there is no other way to find out. She probably did receive it, but just forgot to mention it? Her mind is probably overwhelmed with the surgery right now...
Anything could have happened...sometimes people rip open cards quickly, something inside the card may have fallen out under a chair or something, all kinds of things could have happened.
I think you only have two options: either ask about it or don't.
I personally would tend to ask at the right time.

(36,348 posts)Ill find out sooner or later.
LuckyCharms
(23,067 posts)I've done it a few times. I knew it was risky, but I took the chance anyway. In my case, it all worked out.
I would make a phone call in a couple of days see if the card arrived. Maybe it's just slow mail, maybe she hasn't gone to her mailbox yet...there's a pretty good chance it's going to get there safely.
I hope everything works out!
