(10,154 posts)I hope it is just a bump and not that new variant starting to spread in the US.
We are still NOT down to flu type death counts. I expect that would take another month, if we can get there at all.

No paywall, No quota
36 states have increasing new case counts over the last 14 days; 14 states declining.
14 day moving average of Covid patients in hospitals trending down, but in the last few days the 7 day average has been moving slightly higher (ICU's still declining)
Deaths still trending down, but both hospitalizations and deaths lag new cases.

(115,677 posts)1/3 residents and 1/4 staff tested positive this week. Yeah, I'm pissed too. Have you used the n95 strapless masks, has silicone adhesive around the edges? They don't work with facial hair but others are very comfortable. Niosh approved.

The masks are good if you need to wear one for hours on end, not so good for fast on/off like going into a grocery store.
