Well gang, I have been around a few years and had my give & take.
I have battled with a few, placed some on ignore, and been ignored and alerted on by my share.

I'm only 75 but find myself in the hospital the past week and heading towards hospice. A slim hope and a faint chance will end me in a rehab facility and eventually hopefully home but the odds look against that.

I will look in from time to time as long as I can keep my cell phone working.

But I do want to say with all sincerity

For me it’s hard to think of leaving, and sometimes hard to think of staying, especially since so many loved ones have already left … parents, friends, spouses, pets.
I’m sure you’ve had all the same thoughts.
And in my thoughts there is always an element of mystery, maybe even a sense of adventure. I don’t know. But for certain we will all find out.

Spoil yourself as much as you feel up to it.
Laugh as much as you can. It really is a great medicine.
Always feel surrounded by friendship from your DU family.

133. Spent the last few days discussing Hospice for a family member.

Her goal was to get to 75 which she did in February.
She lives in a facility, she has some dementia.
She is angry about not being able to care for herself...and now to even get out of bed.
She is my beloved sister-in-law, her brother and I were just trying to help her adult children get their minds around it.

As a retired RN, I have great respect for the people who work in Hospice. I also think it is the best decision when necessary. There is honesty, there is no denial, there is hopefully comfort and peace.

As you see there are many here very grateful for having known you in this group.
