For my second guess, I resisted the urge to try to get it in 2 and tried to eliminate possibilities instead. I know it's the better strategy but in this instance, the word I would have guessed was the correct choice.

I went for a word with common consonants. TRASH would have also been a good choice.
Getting the word is skill, WHEN you get it is luck.

How much is luck and how much is skill.

Totally agree, about getting it quickly being more luck than skill. It's all about what you do with what you got

I think I learned something today - don't always put down the first word that pops in your head. Mine was brash and I stopped and thought are there any other words that are more common?

28. WordleBot says brash was a possible solution, so it was just as likely

... but yeah, it's hard to say what words are "common" enough to be on the solution list, so it's always best to go with the "more common" one first.

31. Oh I thought you were going to say brash wasn't in their dictionary

I've noticed that a couple times. They will tell me that my word although a real word isn't in their list. Evidently they only took a fraction of possibilities. It's actually kind of interesting does that mean what they took has to be the list of what the wordle has to be?

One thing I have noticed is that they never use the plural of a three letter word. They also tend not to use words that have duplicate letters in them. Of course this is a broad generalization I'm sure there are exceptions
