2. Ugh

An Amish logging company bought the 200 acres next to us last year. Over the past several months, they have been busy as beavers felling all the big trees, and hauling them out, coming right up to our back property line. Every time I hear one crash to the earth, I jump, and feel a moment of nausea. Then the semi truck full of logs drives out in front of our house. They can't turn the other direction because it would wipe out somebody else's water service, I was told. Our little country road (already difficult for two vehicles to pass each other), was never meant to handle this kind of traffic.

So, their big plan was to divide the front part into 5 two-acre lots, and make a killing, with two new manufacturing plants being built within 30 miles. We've already bought the one right next to us, just to keep someone else further away. They are going to auction the whole kit and kaboodle next month, including a nice log home. We hope to pick up some of these other lots, just to keep them private and wooded.

The whole thing has just made me sick.

I also HATE trees being cut; teared up watching our lot being cleared of beautiful trees in order to build our house. (Yeah, I'm very weird.)
