Wilma Mankiller ever heard of her?

Just got my 2022 US Mint Proof Set. This is the first year of American Women Quarters. One name stood out Wilma Mankiller. She was the first woman elected to serve as Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation.

Mankiller was an advocate working to improve the image of Native Americans and combat the misappropriation of native heritage, by authoring books including a bestselling autobiography, Mankiller: A Chief and Her People, and giving numerous lectures on health care, tribal sovereignty, women's rights, and cancer awareness.

These new women quarters are beautiful coins. Keep your eye open and go through your change and start saving them.

Starting this year 2022 they are minting 5 different women coins each year.

The first 5 women quarters are:

Maya Angelou - Dr. Sally Ride - Wilma Mankiller - Nina Otero Warren - Anna May Wong

I keep a Sacajawea and a Susan B Anthony in my console as a sort of St Christopher for ladies/Deists. One more fierce lady won't hurt a bit.

15 women to be honored on the US quarter? My coin shop didn't know, but soon as they make a coin collector album for the new quarters they would be selling them.

Critical Native American Theory.

Can't teach that in our schools. These "books" of which you speak, will not be allowed either.

We all know white men discovered America and it was totally unihabited when they did. Mount Rushmore is a natural formation, formed by glaciers when they receded after the Ice Age.

Critical Native American Theory is a liberal lie. Carry on.

They took care of the community and revered the land and its resources—until white Americans took their land and sentenced them to poverty on reservations with poor soil and few ways to make a living, not to mention all the treaties the US government ignored as they took more and more of their land.

Had we treated our natural resources better, we might not be headed toward climate Armageddon.

With those new "members" she was able to show enough residents to get better funding to bring up the schools that members attend, and kick start a wave of genuine sustained infrastructure, and cultural improvements.

I've been involved in native arts mostly traditional silver and turquoise jewelry. At my booths I've seen a dozen or more of these "members" proudly display their tribal affiliation, and I don't question their amount of genetic relation. They help the nations and I consider those people to be at least second cousins to the people.
Ah-Ho!
