I love my husband, but sometimes he's just...

so freaking gullible (and clueless about on-line purchasing). He tried to do something nice and bought us tickets to see the Harry Potter play on Broadway as an anniversary gift. Somehow, he managed to get sidetracked to another ticket seller rather than the easily-available tickets direct from the Lyric Theater. He paid literally 6 times what the tickets would have cost if he had bought them direct, and the seat location is pretty awful. Fabulous seats were available for less than half of what he paid. He knows absolutely zero about checking for scam sites, and I usually make those kinds of purchases. Am I a total bitch for being annoyed that he didn't discuss it with me first? I just hope the tickets are legit. Ugh. I'm looking forward to seeing the play, but... Ugh.

Just like how you do when a kid makes a crayon picture for you. No, it's not a Picaso, but appreciate the thought that went into it and enjoy the show.

Why embarrass or belittle his gesture and ruin his (your) evening?

I just wish he was more open to learning what to look for. This was a relatively benign occasion in the grand scheme, but he's incredibly stubborn about asking for help in online transactions and it's created financial grief for us more than once.

make your OWN scam site…anytime he searches for something it redirects to YOUR site…then you see what he wants, then you order it!

Dang, I’m a genius.

but has no common sense when it comes to these things.

I usually handle all travel arrangements/purchases for the same reason as you. Some of it comes down to experience and knowing what to watch out for when it comes to third party entities.

Well, once he got in a rush and decided to do it himself and ended up taking a flight from Atlanta to Houston to Fort Lauderdale, FL to get to Austin, Texas. Lost luggage, rental car long gone, etc. ALL BECAUSE HE WASN'T patient enough to wait for me to help him with the logistics. Like your tickets, he paid far more for his gullibility than the trip was worth.

Try to focus on that. And you call ahead for dinner reservations, just to make sure at least that goes smoothly!
