So this morning our daughter attacked me as she often does. Not really attack but we having a running game of surprising each other. Shes grabs the back of my neck and declares Vulcan death grip!. I looked at my wife and said, Weve failed. All those years of watching all the Star Trek series and our daughter doesnt know how to do the Vulcan neck pinch. Its on the collarbone area not the back of the neck.
So we have to start over with The Original Series episode 1.
There goes my weekend. 😣

(56,198 posts)The move on the collarbone area is the Vulcan nerve pinch, not the Vulcan "death grip".
The Vulcan "death grip" is on the face

(114,615 posts)or Kalto transfer grip, take your picl between the series and the movies.
By the way, if you know your anatomy well, there are a few places on the body where large nerves come very close to the surface. Hit those right and you can get an attacker to forget all about what he thought he wanted. Been there, done that, walked away slowly to drive the humiliation home.

(56,198 posts)Arguably, the Vulcan death grip is achieved through the Vulcan mind meld technique. In any event, the Vulcan death grip is done by Spock placing his hand on Kirk's face.
Warpy
(114,615 posts)Spock was obviously taking the piss since Kirk was alive and well in the next episode.

(19,704 posts)for different reasons.
The smallest one had Star Wars Lego sets. He had backstories and musical themes for each and every one of the little Lego men and would set up these huge battle scenes where if we moved one, he'd know. He had voices for most of them and dialogue. It was so entertaining to listen to him play for hours.
He's older now and doesn't play with them anymore. I miss that part of his life.

I beamed for days.

(38,726 posts)We are a race that kills. It is awful. The kid killing his school mates is awful...
What else is there to say? Star Trek asked this question about killing many times in many shapes and forms.
Humans kill other humans. Many spiritual leaders have tried to stop this. It goes on and on. Why? or Why Not?
