I flew AA last fall hesitantly but went first class thinking that would fix things. Nope. Awful. dutch777 Jun 2022 #3

I usually fly to Tennessee (it ends up being Untied via a regional carrier unless I drive to Dulles or Richmond) but this summer we decided to do the same thing we do when grandkids visit---husband will drive me to the pickup point halfway and someone from the household will meet meat the conveniently located Dairy Queen. The reverse coming home. It doesn't take any longer timewise and will probably be less hassle.

Just flew east coast to CA on Alaska and it was a great flight. On time pushing back and landing and good service on the flight. Bags took too long to come out but the rental car company was just as bad or worse. I suspect lack of staffing all around. From touch down it took me 2 hours to get my bags and be rolling out of the lot in the rental car. Glad I didn't closely schedule to try and do something or be somewhere on landing.

Very good service. On time. And they have a 20 minute guarantee on the bags being out of the plane. Probably too late for you to report this though. Plus, if you telephone their service line, a real human being answers the phone! And it's someone in the US who does not make you deal with a cut in/cut out overseas phone call.

Not saying things are perfect at AA, but they are not great at any of the airlines, Delta and United included. All the airlines are short staffed and having trouble ramping back up operations quickly enough to meet the booming demand as fliers flock back at pre pandemic levels.
