No thanks. There are plenty of not famous "painted ladies" in good condition that aren't Vinca Jun 2022 #2

Their mom, my great grandmother, sold the family homes in San Francisco when my great grandfather died. That was her retirement. These homes weren't anything special then.

Two of my San Francisco ancestors' homes are still standing. One has been converted into expensive apartments, a dozen unrelated people living where a single family had lived before. The other, my great great grandparent's home now looks better than it ever has before, a gilded Disneyland fantastic version of its 1890's self.

Last I looked, a few years ago, these homes had each sold in the one to two million dollar range.

2 inches away from their neighbors selling for a whole lot less. If that's what San Francisco living is like, count me out.
