$57 a bottle for my new glaucoma drops, and $13.99 a bottle from Chewy for the same one. My dog is on my old drops, so she can have my three extra bottles of that one.
After paying the $57 for the new one, I transferred my prescription to HealthWarehouse and ordered three bottles at $15 each with free shipping.
It's the Wild West out there for drug prices. Luckily we only use a couple. With Medicare and a supplement, we're good for now.

(46,579 posts)In fact the CVS pharmacist suggested I try Kroger for this medication.
She said that Krogers has the best prices around. They make so much money on groceries, they give away meds.

(4,919 posts)I switched from my local Walmart Pharmacy to Amazon months ago...Fast free shipping if you have a Prime account. I recommend it.

(46,579 posts)The cost of medications is crazy.

(4,919 posts)... Their prices will be matched by local pharmacy like using GoodRx... But, Walmart didn't take it.
For me, personally, I don't drive... And, Amazon saves me money on Ubers. Also, Amazon's customer service is great and very quick to get in touch with a human for Rx transfers and whatnot.

(46,579 posts)Sounds pretty easy. Will look into it.

(4,919 posts)... Easy to use on a computer or smartphone.
You can check med prices before your sign up here...

(46,579 posts)I am going to check out the prices.
How long does it take for the meds to get to you?
How does it come to you?
To mailbox or front door?
targetpractice
(4,919 posts)Depends on what day of the week you order... 2 business days for free if you have Prime. 4-5 days for FREE, and $5.99 for 2 day without Prime. But, still shipped by UPS (left at front door, no signature required)... UPS does not deliver Amazon Pharmacy meds on weekends, so factor that in.
If you need prescription sent to Amazon right away, they will transfer in about an hour to a local pharmace, and you can use the Amazon or GoodRx cards for the best price.
I basically switched during the pandemic, because I wasn't going out then (even for medications)... I've signed up for a few things like Instacart (for groceries)... UberEats... makes my life easier.
Irish_Dem
(46,579 posts)The delivery sounds good.
Yes I too upped my delivery game for groceries and food during the pandemic.
I need to think about doing meds the same way.
Croney
(4,657 posts)But why only $14 if it's a veterinary prescription! There is zero difference in the med.

(8,387 posts)What do you suppose is the potential liability in a product defect lawsuit if (a) a dog's eyes are injured, and (b) a human's eyes are injured?
How much does the manufacturer's insurance company charge for covering (a) injuries to dogs, and (b) injuries to humans?
The prices of things include the cost of potential liability.
You could manufacture, say, rope. You could sell the rope in packaging and through hardware stores which sell the rope as "clothesline" for hanging and drying clothes. You could also sell the rope in different packaging through sporting goods stores which sell the rope for rock climbing.
You are not going to charge the same price for both packages. You are going to charge a lot more for the climbing rope than for the clothesline, because the packaging and distribution channel is expressly set up to say "use this rope to climb rocks" instead of "use this rope to dry your clothes."

(4,657 posts)I'm not sure how you would ever be able to sue for a product defect when the product is an eye drop that treats glaucoma. Neither my dog nor I is ever going to be cured, and they make no claim that it is a cure.
I'm sure there are many studies involved in developing, testing, approving, and marketing the eye drop. I can only hope they slow the deterioration of vision for us both. So far, we can still see well.

(35,300 posts)advertising. Why are they permitted to advertise prescription drugs? We can't go out and buy them, they are
prescription drugs doctors prescribe them. It is ridiculous, it seems like 90% of the ads on TV are for drugs.

(1,203 posts)I order it out of Canada for $26 each plus shipping, (possble to order a 3 pak).
It doesn't come overnight but rather takes 3 or more weeks. The inhaler might be shipped from other countries, though, like Singapore, Israel, New Zealand, India.
