They are plainly hungry. Someone dumped multiple litters at once. What was funny to me, like out of a horror movie, is when they all came out to jump the human. That was just amazing, all those kitties begging for food. And, he couldn't abandon them. How nice to see this.

Cats aren't stupid. Ha ha, one little kitty by the side of the road, and when that one captures the human's attention, out they all come! A gang of kitties. Feed me!
