I'm not much on makeup, especially since I no longer have to work in a corporate environment. Lip balm and SPF moisturizer is about the most I'll do, although, if the occasion demands it, I'll use mascara and real lipstick. And cheap lipstick at that (Wet 'n' Wild Cherry Picking), because I don't use it enough to justify spending more than $2 on the stuff. I just don't have the patience for the rest of the makeup rigamarole, and I hated it when I felt pressured to do the full Halloween mask to keep a job.

When it comes to my nails, though, I'm a total fanatic. I give myself a manicure around twice a week, and rotate through a dizzying array of colors: traditional like red, pink and orange, and non-traditional like blue, green, purple, black, and multichrome (so much fun!).

My mom thinks I'm nuts to wear weird color nails at 60 years old, but who says 60 means being staid and conservative? What nonsense is that?
