I have a sty (stye?)

Upper eyelid.

Will hot packs all day take care of this, or is this going to turn into some big fucking disaster like everything else on my body does?

I would Google it, but I don't trust the internet.

Thanks in advance.

If it doesn’t, go to the doctor or urgent care for antibiotic ointment or drops.

will call it in for you.
Or you can fool around with hot wet compresses and possibly infect your other eye. Seriously, do it right and quit suffering. Those things are nothing to fool with. Best of luck.

I'll probably have to go to a walk-in when my eyelid looks like a grapefruit.

Does the ointment go INSIDE your eye, or on the outer eyelid?

Thanks.

Oh hell, wait a minute!!! That was pink eye. I hope I don't get my imaginary medical license revoked over this!

you'll do well to keep the area clean, and avoid messing around with it.

And try not to stare at it.

A clean fork.

I keep missing though because one eye is closed.

So long as it's not the same fork you use to part your armpit hairs.

Good information on styes.

My sister used to get styes occasionally in one of her eyes. My Mom would brew tea and use the teabag as a treatment. It work for them! It's listed as treatment #3 in the article. Good luck.

32. I use Ocusoft Lid Scrubs

Jun 2022

a few times a week for lid care. I used to get little cysts on one of my lower eyelids, and now I don't.

Google says do this for styes:

Try an ointment (such as Stye), solution (such as Bausch and Lomb Eye Wash), or medicated pads (such as Ocusoft Lid Scrub). Let the stye or chalazion open on its own. Don't squeeze or open it.

Edited to add: I buy Ocusoft Lid Scrub at Walmart. No prescription necessary.
