mrs unblock just got us a grocery delivery which included "whole wheat naan"

i'm neither indian nor a chef, but i always thought if it was whole wheat, then it's "paratha", not "naan".

is there some subtle distinction between "whole wheat naan" and "paratha"?

or is this just some americanized marketing, where they figure we know what "naan" is but don't know what "paratha" is?

... paratha is layered by brushing with ghee, folding, and re rolling before cooking on a griddle. Naan is usually baked in an oven, and not layered beforehand.
