(41,960 posts)I was a kid growing up in Mississippi and it was SOOOO smart and funny and different from everyone and everything around me. Im toying with the idea of a memoir about being raised by media when the world around me just didnt make sense, and Kubrick was a big part of that media.

(41,960 posts)It was a funny full circle moment, from Star Trek to his clear awe at having made that excursion, however small. I loved Star Trek at a time when I needed hope for the future, and here we were. I think its pretty relatable, finding like minds out there when you think youre the only one who feels like you do.
I suppose DU is a part of that, eh?
