Early 80's, that is.

But I got a smile (and a few good tips) from older ladies if I would half-joking say "May I see your ID?"

Got that idea from a Doonesbury comic strip, no less.

One of my favorite lines about friends is this: Friend are the family you give to yourself.

It’s so true. My closest friends are just as much family to me as my siblings.

My family has some big issues. They have done some things that I can't accept.

So, my friends are my family.

I actually don't have a ton of friends, but I have enough. And they are quality human beings.

Take half and half. It lasts much longer than 2 percent and far longer than skim milk.

So definitely a compliment.
