(882 posts)Maru's thought process:
Initial survey of the problem, just sitting there and looking up and down at the swing.
A walk around from different angles, gathering information.
First test: Put the paws on the swing, push it a little forward and back, side to side a little, look up, then just back off, pause and reassess.
Second test: Try the swing again, same broadside approach, not very successful. Doesn't make much sense, pause, reassess and then come back for level 2 testing.
Third test: Approach from the end. Slowly wiggle up from one of the ends. A more narrow approach but more stable. Push forward, push back. Yes more stable but the solution is not there yet. Look up again at those ropes, reassess again, retreat and think about it.
Fourth test: Another end approach, nothing new here, quickly discarded. A retreat to reconsider the situation. Some focused concentration before the next attempt.
Fifth test: The approach is from the side again, but this time the front paws are stable on the swing and the back legs are working now, the final piece of the puzzle.
The cat is on the swing. It's done. Then time for a nap, which is how a cat celebrates.
