Petsmart had almost none so I went to Petco. They had a 33 # bag but when they ran it up it was $70.
Went to Price Chopper and found an 18# bag for 33.
I couldn't believe it.

(6,052 posts)is running close to what I pay for groceries. I buy from Chewy because you can sometime get a deal but I won't just feed them anything because it's cheaper. Almost every Chewy order runs around $70 - $100. We have four pets.
They love Fresh Pet but that larger bag costs $30 and they can go thru it in about 3-4 days. I might start eating it myself.

I know you probably know this, but wanted to share just in case you didn't.
I used to give my cat tuna until I found out she should only get it in moderation. But that was well after I had been giving it to her for a while. She got it about 1-2 times a week. She also had dry cat food which was her main food.
I am finding more cat food available now, but it's still pretty sparse. I haven't see a big price hike in the canned food. Hope things work out for you.

(115,267 posts)They can also get a bit addicted to it and refuse to eat anything else. I'll probably mix it with the rest of the canned stuff I still have to stretch it a bit and not get them too demanding of straight tuna.

(8,579 posts)It was $15.99 for 15 lbs at our local Walmart forever - last few months its been $22.99.
I buy hamburger, chicken legs and thighs, chicken livers and cube steak to top their dry food - which is actually cheaper than good quality canned and probably healthier. However, I have to cook it which is a drag.

(18,815 posts)I might look into that.
I just tried to order dry from Amazon and it could be 3 weeks.
This is crazy.

(295 posts)But I do try to get her Purina. But everything is going up. The guy that works at Walmart here said one day last week they had 900 price changes. And I'm positive the changes weren't good for us

(16,688 posts)Just chicken for my cat. I had to switch over to Chewy to get what I wanted my cat to have. Even Chewy came up empty for awhile. If I can get ahead, I order, and then try again if I get low.
There were warnings about pet food shortages in 2021, and they are happening.
Hope you can keep finding food for your dog.
