God of War Fans are Sexually Harassing Dev Team Over an Announcement Delay

Fan eager for news on God of War Ragnarök sexually harassed employees at Santa Monica Studios in a bid to make them reveal details about the game following a canceled announcement.

Cinematics Producer Estelle Tigani posted to Twitter to ask fans to stop sending her explicit photos, which were apparently intended to convince her to reveal the God of War Ragnarök release date. Director and Producer Cory Barlog defended her by responding to the post with an angry message for fans sexually harassing Tigani. "Are you fucking kidding me with this now???" he said. "I cannot believe I even have to say this but don't fucking send dick pics to ANYONE on this team, or anyone in this industry for that matter."

Some fans wanted to blame leaker The Snitch and reporter Jason Schrier for the harassment, but Barlog replied, telling fans not to find someone to condemn or hate. "The answer is not to find someone to blame or focus hate on. Maybe just pay it forward and treat the people that make the things we love with some human decency and respect. This is not a battle, we are not at war. We are just trying to make + enjoy things together."

A reliable leaker, The Snitch, unintentionally started something of a frenzy among fans of the game when they posted a leak implying a God of War Ragnarök announcement on June 30. Schrier seemed to back up this report, stating PlayStation would reveal the release date towards the end of the month and suggested a launch sometime in November. The day before the alleged announcement, Barlog appeared to temper fan responses to a delay, asking them for patience while the team continued to work on the highly anticipated project.
