Louis Calhoun played Buffalo Bill Cody, and Betty Hutton was Annie Oakley. Keenan Wynn's character may have been fictitious.
I was 6 when the movie came out, but I think I was around 10 when I saw after it finally came to our little Nebraska town. Loved it!
