Is there NO duty to warn?

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by JudyM (a host of the The DU Lounge forum).

How many Republicans KNEW the insurrection was coming and said nothing. They could have stopped the violence at the Capitol. They could have National Guard there with those massively outnumbered police officers.
This whole plan was known by so many and now they want an award for spilling their guts after the fact. These people are not heroes.
Is there any consequences for them keeping silent about the upcoming violent coup?

They all feel that the presidency is "theirs" so most of them have no problem with any transgressions which occur in the course of returning to themselves their rightful property.

Almost every single goddamned Republican is more loyal to their party than to their country, its people, its Constitution, or their oaths.

And they cheered it on. Because they are unable to actually win anymore. Demographics.
