Normally this item is WAY out of my self restricted spending limits but I used my digital coupon for some Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia Ice Cream ($2.79). My review: great flavor BUT I wish it had a thick, gooey chocolate ribbon instead of big chips.

I don't know why ice cream makers switched to chips or chunks of chocolate. I miss those thick fudge rivers running through ice cream. I bought some Tillamook coffee almond fudge ice cream, again with a coupon, and it said it had fudge ribbons. More like fudge threads.


Oh well. Consider this an old lady remembering the good old days kind of post.

but a pint of that stuff where I live costs 5.99! Agree about the gooey chocolate fudge ribbon though!!!

3. I'm in Michigan and got it with a Kroger 'digital deal' coupon

I don't know the regular price but the sale price was $3.99 with a knock down to $2.79 with the digital coupon.

That was the only reason I bought some Tillamook (with the hope of finding a ribbon of fudge). That stuff is around $6 but it was another $2.79 digital coupon deal. I love Kroger digital coupons.

My brother is very lucky at finding Ben & Jerry's in the 'manager's special' section of the frozen foods department. I have better luck with ground beef. I've gotten 1# packages of organic, grass fed ground beef for .99 but usually for $3, which is still a great deal.

2. I agree! I used to love Marble Fudge ice cream; but I've not seen it in any supermarket

for a long time.

4. That was one of my absolute favorites.

I'm just not too fond of the chunks of chocolate. The chocolate in the Cherry Garcia is very thin so not that bad but, yea, the fudge ribbon would make this ice cream perfect.

5. Get a jar of hot fudge sauce :)

Or melt some chocolate chips and mix with a little heavy cream -- ganache!

I get vanilla ice cream and add things to enhance it, chocolate chips, peanut butter pecans, fruit, whatever I'm in the mood to have!

I can vouch for the fact that this ice cream has thick tasty fudge ribbons. Can also be called "Death by Chocolate".
