The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
Yeah. Pink Floyd, Time. A not insignificant thing regardless.

(3,288 posts)It drags, it flies by, and sometimes it seems to stand still. The lyrics to Time have become more personally relevant in recent years. When I first heard the song some 50 years ago, my inevitable ending was abstract, something far off and out of mind. Indeed, one day you do find that many years have got behind you without your noticing. How did Roger Waters have such a profound insight while in his late 20s?

(24,330 posts)I took it about 100 times. 95% of that was confined to the year 1974. It was the easiest drug to quit. You just sort of lose interest in it. Paul Kantner of the Jefferson Airplane said it opens doors for you, but once you've seen what's on the other side of the door, you don't need to keep opening it. That describes exactly how I eventually felt.
Brian Wilson's wife said he took it once, then didn't leave his bedroom for five years. He had other mental issues and I wouldn't recommend LSD for anyone with mental problems.
I last took it in 1980 and I wouldn't consider it today.
It's only been five decades since I heard this from Pink Floyd.
I'll wait for the starting gun right here.
