dear pub owners, a rant.

when a solo grey haired lady sits at your bar, which is on the sketchiest strip in the hood, and she has to wave her arms to get a beer, and then again to get a glass of water, even tho every other person who sat down got 1 w their menus, which they didnt wait 10 minutes for while the owner and the manager sat at the end of the bar, locked in conversation, that's not just shitty service. that's a place where i dont feel fucking safe.
i have never stiffed a server IN.MY.LIFE. til tonight.
i told him why, i told 'the manager' why, and i walked out w/o so much as a we're sorry.
i dont know how you're still in the biz of $25 grilled cheese and a 12 oz beer.

there's no dedicated parking, and it's tight. i walked a block and a half.
they have valet sometimes, but didnt today. wasnt gonna pop the $10 anyway.

then his wife and kid came in. wife was all over him, and the kid all around the bar.

i just... i worked in the biz long ago, and ida got my ass kicked.

7. Please don't take it personally.......

I'm a guy - and I, too, have had shitty service in places that you would think would be happy to have someone walking through the door. I'm afraid that the notion of 'service' is something that is dying - and businesses are now claiming that it is because of COVID and the inability to find good 'help.'
Somewhere down they line they may learn the things that 'good' sales people learn - treat people as you would like to be treated and you just might strike gold!

That being said - here's to 'ya - this one's on me!!!
