It’s actually considered bad luck to win the par 3 competition. It’s held on Tuesday or Wednesday before the tournament starts. Fans love it and not people can say they were able to get into Augusta. The players try trick shots or let their caddies take shots that kinda thing.

The players know every square each of that course. Rahm figured he could pull that off and did.
